The Floating Weir Skimmer (FWS) is a simple, well-proven industrial surface oil skimmer or surface decanter powered by any pump that can pull suction. The FWS is automatically self-adjusting and flow-controlled—meaning that by controlling your pump’s flow rate, you can adjust the skim or cut coming off the surface, from 1/8″ to over 1-1/4″ automatically. The FWS, with only one moving part (hinged weir), never needs manual adjustment—EVER!

PUMPS
SkimHAWG Air-Operated Diaphragm Pumps are designed for tough industrial work—because there’s often junk floating in the oil or water.
- Regular 2” AOD pumps jam easily (even an earplug can stop one), but our unique 1” SkimHAWG #S/HDF1/X1 AOD pump can pass 1” solids, and the 2” SkimHAWG can pass 2” solids.
- We keep these in stock and ready to ship as part of your complete system.
HOSE
Get your skimmer set up and operating fast—without delay.
- The #HK2X60X Hose Kit includes four sections of 2” interlocking hose (total 60’) for mix-and-match, plug-and-play installation.
- Includes all connectors and aluminum camlock quick couplers for instant hookup.
- Need a different hose configuration?
- Our St. Louis fabrication shop builds custom industrial hose assemblies —rubber, plastic, metal, Teflon, or composite—with every connector, coupler, fitting, and swivel known to man.
- We also offer stainless steel braided hoses (up to 18”) welded by USCG-certified welders .
CONTROL WAND EXTENSION POLE
All FWS units feature rear (horizontal) male camlock couplers , but our FWS00A34 and FWS00A381 ABS skimmers also include a top (vertical) 1.5″ outlet for easy operation from above.
The optional controller package (extension pole set) with suction wand attaches directly to the top outlet, allowing you to move the FWS precisely into the oil layer from a distance.
The controller hooks directly to your pump suction— keeping the suction valve right in your hands for total control.
