WHY FLOW-THRU COALESCING MEDIA SYSTEMS MATTER
A compact, high-surface-area path that removes free and dispersed oils, retrofits into existing tanks, and delivers mg/L-level results is how facilities raise throughput without rebuilding their separators.
Full Product Details & Specifications
SkimOIL ® ‘s Flow-Thru, Coalescing Media Systems provide high performance oils and fuels separation in a compact, high surface area design.
Flow-Thru coalescing media systems are designed to remove non-emulsified, free & dispersed oils and fuels from water. Coalescing Media is a standard feature of our high performance oil water separators and are also offered for replacement or retrofitting of existing tanks to improve performance and increase flow rates. Removal efficiencies have been as low as <1 mg/L down to non-detect.
Typical, regular performance is in the 3-10 mg/L range depending on wastestream characteristics. SkimOIL ® can provide review of your existing tank to replace existing media or engineer the fitting of Flow-Thru into a tank for the first time via modifications to optimize tank design for the best oil separation environment.
Ret-pak Media Our Ret-pak secondary coalescing media can be provided to high-density surface area in a small cubic area to add to your existing media or in conjunction with Flow-Thru media to increase small droplet capture.
Features Include: ♦ Cross-corrugated surface design ♦ High surface area per Ft3 ♦ Long lasting PVC construction ♦ Solids settling/clearing design ♦ Numerous droplet impact sites ♦ Numerous changes of flow direction ♦ Space efficient design ♦ 60° corrugation angle
Flow-Thru construction is available in PVC, HPVC, polypropylene, glass-coupled polypropylene and stainless steel. Plate spacing and media dimensions are also variable depending on project requirements. Spacing is available in 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″ & 1.2″. Stainless media frames are offered to allow you to remove and replace all the media at once.
Customization & modifications to fit your project needs are offered to convert existing tanks into our high performance design or new design/build designs tailored to your facility and application. Typical performance is 10 mg/L or less, 30 micron oil droplet.
Flow-Thru media can settle solids loads as well as oils on a limited basis. If solids are unknown or characteristics possibly difficult please contact us to review your application for proper design.
The Flow-Thru media promotes oil & fuel removal by providing a controlled path for the wasteflow. See the Separation Theory page (on website) for more information on Flow-Thru media operation & theory
